Tip of the Day: Disabling and reordering your links

When you first create your Spot, you will see some default pages and links that are already built for you. At the time of this writing, they are "Home", "Blog", "My Friends", "Calendar", "Photo Gallery", and "Free Website".

By clicking into the "Manage Links" section of the Control Panel, you sill see that the "Home" link points to your default first page of the same name. You can delete or rename this link you wish, since it points directly to a dynamic page.

The other default links behave slightly differently since they are actually services rather than a specific page. You may notice that you do not have the option to delete those links. However, you can disable and re-enable them at your convenience.

Please note that if you delete your "Friends" page, you will no longer be able to recieve messages on your Spot from your friends. This *does not* affect people being able to post comments on your blog.

Another thing you can do within the link manager is reorder your links. In the "Order" column, you can click the links for "up" and "down" to change where they will show up on your navigation bar.

We have just added in functionality for InstantSpot.com users to monetize your (already free) website/blog through the use of Google Adsense. Once you have logged in to your control panel, you will see a link to 'Ad Manager ' in your Admin navigation.

For now, you will have the choice to run ads at the top or at the bottom of your content section. We will still retain the the ad space in the right side-column.
