New Feature - Google Talk Gadget!

InstantSpot

Greeting faithful Spotters!

The InstantSpot development team rolled a brand spanking new feature into InstantSpot today that we wanted to make you aware of.  You can now add a Google Talk Gadget instant messenger right into your Spot!   Wherever you want the Google Talk Gadget to display on your page, simply type:  into your page editor and you have a nifty way to communicate with your friends without having to install any Google Talk software.

Here is an example

Please note that for the time being this will not be implemented into blog posts, but you can add it into any page.  Go try it out!

Well, that target be rockin'. Too bad the plugin requires that the user be a GTalk user. Be really outstanding if anyone could visit my ". chat" page and talk to me. Or maybe they can and I just haven't played with it enough...

if we can find a sweet chat client, i'm sure we'd look at adding that too. this was just a super-rad way to plop a gtalk widget in

Ohh...something more difficult, but interesting:

What about a forums tag that created one and automatically linked it? [forum politics George Bush] - forum (the tag) | politics (the category) | George Bush (the topic)

Dubya, I like that google maps idea. We will look into it. We will have to give that forum one some thought too.

@Ryan
I do have one CodeShare request (via InstantSpot)...any way the indenting can be preserved? I'd also like to see the code displayed in a monospace font. Okay, so that was two requests...sue me. :-)

Okay, guys, update the blonde here. Is GoogleTalk an instant messenger program? I swear it seems like we have most of the others (teen in the house), but this one is new.

If I already have a Google ID, do I need a different GTalk ID?

Yeah, just another IM channel (uses Jabber). Your Google un/pwd is all you need. Have fun. :-)

Predestined - You should be able to log in with your regular Google account. If you want to test it you can add me to your buddy list 'dshuck'.
